微软表示，市场上暂时没有任何的电子设备获得了官方的Windows Mobile 6.5系统，预计2009年第四季度，Windows Mobile 6.5才会正式投入使用。

Windows Mobile团队表示：“微软移动通信业务部门主管Stephanie Ferguson将在5月11日下午1:00至2:15间发表Windows Mobile 6.5正式版发布讲演，此次TechEd 2009大会的一个重头戏就是Windows Mobile的里程碑式版本Windows Mobile 6.5的发布。”
另外，Windows Mobile 6.5手机将在今年秋季上市，随着Windows Mobile 6.5的正式完成，微软会将主要精力转移到Windows Mobile 7的开发，并有望于明年四月完成。
